About the Artists
Peter Moore OAM
Conductor
Originally from London, Peter began his early musical life studying piano, violin and bassoon.
Since emigrating to Western Australia in 1984, he has held academic positions in the music departments of Edith Cowan University and The University of Western Australia, and been Principal Bassoon of both The Australian Chamber Orchestra and The Australian Brandenburg Orchestra.
Peter has conducted and presented concerts for the WASO, Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra, Adelaide Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra Victoria, Australian Chamber Orchestra, Hong Kong Sinfonietta and The Penang Philharmonic Orchestra.
2020 would have been the 15th consecutive year of conducting Babies Proms concerts for the Singapore Symphony Orchestra.
Peter has been Musical Director of The West Australian Youth Orchestras Association for over 30 years, and is married to WASO clarinettist Lorna Cook.

Amy Manford
Vocals
Australian/American soprano, Amy Manford most recently performed the role of ‘Christine Daaé’ in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s original production of The Phantom of the Opera on the West End. She is due to reprise the same role with Opera Australia at the Sydney Opera House in August 2022.
Amy has been honoured to sing the Australian National Anthem for both the 2021 AFL Grand Final and for HRH Prince Harry and Ms. Meghan Markle for the 2018 Anzac Day Memorial Service in London.
Prior to her West End debut, Amy had performed internationally as a soloist with the London Handel, London Cello and the West Australian Symphony Orchestras. She had also sung at iconic venues such as the Seoul Arts Centre in South Korea and at Buckingham Palace for the Prince of Wales.
In 2020, Amy joined creative forces with her colleague and friend, Genevieve McCarthy to create MM Creative Productions, Perth's newest theatrical production company. The two recently completed their largest project to date, Disney in Concert: A Dream is a Wish featuring the West Australian Symphony Orchestra and some of Australia’s finest theatrical talent.
Amy graduated with a Master of Performance from the Royal College of Music in London and a Bachelor of Music from The Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts in her hometown, Perth.

Genevieve McCarthy
Vocals
Genevieve is an Offie nominated actress who last year returned to Australia after studying and performing in London. Genevieve’s recent credits include playing Aphrodite in the world premiere of Mythic (Charing Cross Theatre) for which she was nominated for an Offie Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Musical and appears on the Original London Cast Recording, feature film The Spy Who Dumped Me (Lionsgate) with scenes opposite Mila Kunis & Kate McKinnon, Nina in short film Oblivious and workshop performances of Steven Sater’s new musical Murder at The Gates (The Other Palace). Genevieve also appears in commercials for Cadbury and Amazon Echo.
In 2016, Genevieve graduated with a Master of Performance in Musical Theatre from the Royal Academy of Music in London. During her studies she appeared as Johanna in Sweeney Todd at the Theatre Royal Stratford East and April in Company.
Prior to moving to London, Genevieve played Little Cosette in the Les Miserables 10th Anniversary Australian Tour (Cameron Mackintosh), Brigitta in The Sound of Music (GFO), Annie in Annie: Kids on Broadway (WASO) and Due in children’s television series Parallax (Great Western Entertainment). Genevieve performed solo singing engagements for President Bill Clinton (An Evening with President Bill Clinton), New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani (An Evening with Rudy Giuliani) and at season launches for the West Australian Symphony Orchestra and Australian Rugby Union.
In 2020, Genevieve joined creative forces with her colleague and friend Amy Manford to create MM Creative Productions, Perth's newest theatrical production company. Paul O'Neill

Australian tenor Paul O’Neill has forged a compelling international career singing in opera houses and concert halls throughout Europe and Australasia. His 2021 engagements include Alfredo (La traviata) for Opera Australia, Turiddu (Cavalleria rusticana) and Canio (Pagliacci) for West Australian Opera, and concert appearances with the West Australian Symphony Orchestra.
As an ensemble member of the Berlin Staatsoper, Paul sang many roles including: The Italian Singer in Der Rosenkavalier, Augustin Moser and Kunz Vogelgesang in Die Meistersinger von Nūrnberg, Hirt and Seeman in Tristan und Isolde, Spoletta in Tosca and Gastone in La traviata.
Engagements since have included Don José (Carmen) and Alfredo for West Australian Opera, Rodolfo (La bohème) and Narraboth (Salome) for Opera Australia, the title role in Faust for Theater Münster, Cavaradossi (Tosca) in both Perth and Magdeburg and Pinkerton (Madama Butterfly) throughout China. Other roles have included The Duke in Rigoletto with Opera Holland Park, Opera Australia, West Australian Opera and the State Theatres of Karlsruhe and Mainz; Turiddu, Cavaradossi and Carlo VII in Verdi’s Joan of Arc for Theater Bielefeld and Jason in Médée for Theater Bielefeld and the Mainz State Theatre.
He has sung Don José at the Glyndebourne Festival; Laca in Jenůfa and Janáček’s song cycle The Diary of One Who Disappeared for Opéra de Lille; the title role in Faust at Theater Hagen and the Mainz State Theatre; Rodolfo for Halle Opera and West Australian Opera; Elvino (La sonnambula) and Laca with Graz Opera; Radamès in Aida at the St Margarethen Opera Festival; The Prince in Rusalka at the State Theatre of Saarbrücken, and Isepo in La Gioconda in concert at the Concertgebouw, Amsterdam.
Paul O’Neill’s concert repertoire includes Rossini’s Petite messe solennelle and Stabat Mater, Handel’s Ode for St Cecilia’s Day and Haydn’s Nelson Mass; Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 with the Rheinland-Pfalz State Philharmonic and the Beethoven Orchestra in Bonn; Orff’s Carmina Burana with West Australian Opera; Verdi’s Requiem at the Konzerthaus Berlin and West Australian Symphony Orchestra; and Mendelssohn’s Elijah and Haydn’s Orlando Paladino, both with the Berlin Philharmonic, under Seiji Ozawa and Nikolaus Harnoncourt. He has also worked with conductors Daniel Barenboim, Bruno Bartoletti, Andris Nelsons, Stefan Blunier, Neeme Järvi, Steven Sloane, Alexander Soddy, Dirk Kaftan, Omer Meir Wellber, Simone Young and Leo Hussain.
Paul O’Neill earned his Bachelor of Performing Arts at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts and was a Young Artist at West Australian Opera. He was awarded Opera Foundation Australia’s Covent Garden National Opera Studio Scholarship and studied at the Cardiff International Academy of Voice with Dennis O’Neill.

WASO Chorus
The WASO Chorus was formed in 1988 and consists of around 100 volunteer choristers who represent the finest form of community music making, bringing together singers from all walks of life. They regularly feature in the WASO annual concert season, and are directed by Andrew Foote.
The Chorus has built an international reputation for its high standards and diverse range of repertoire. While its main role is to perform with the West Australian Symphony Orchestra the Chorus also maintains a profile of solo concerts, tours and community engagements.
The Chorus sings with the finest conductors and soloists including Asher Fisch, Simone Young, Stephen Layton and Paul Daniel. Recent highlights have included Brahms’ German Requiem, Mahler’s Second Symphony and Verdi’s Requiem. In 2019 the Chorus performed at the Denmark Festival of Voice and in 2018 toured China with performances of Orff’s Carmina burana. In 2020 they performed two Gala events on the Kalbarri Skywalk.

Perth Broadway Chorus
Perth Broadway Chorus are a community of singers who share a love for showtunes! Established in 2019, the chorus has brought music theatre enthusiasts together to sing songs from classics such as The Sound of Music, Guys and Dolls and West Side Story, to contemporaries such as Avenue Q, Hamilton and Dear Evan Hansen.
PBC’s concerts typically feature chorus numbers interspersed with a variety of solos and duets performed by PBC members. All funds from ticket sales go directly to local charities and PBC are always delighted to have friends from Nulsen, Salvo’s Women’s Refuge and Regis Aged Care attend as invited guests.

UWA Symphonic Chorus
The Symphonic Chorus of UWA is the Conservatorium of Music’s largest choir, open to all students studying at UWA. Directed by Dr Andrew Foote (Chair of Vocal Studies and current Director of the WASO Chorus), members are drawn from the UWA Vocal Program, the wider Conservatorium student-body and a growing number of non-music majors, who participate as volunteers or as students enrolled in one the Conservatoriums Music Ensemble units.
The choir regularly collaborates with the UWA Symphony Orchestra, UWA Wind Orchestra, schools and WASO to perform a wide range of repertoire at venues across Perth, including the Perth Concert Hall, St Mary’s Cathedral and Winthrop Hall. Recent highlights include: Elijah with West Australian Opera, Beethoven 9 with the UWA Orchestra, UWA Choral Society and the Aquinas College Schola Choir, the WA Premiere of Lili Boulanger’s Psalm 130: Du fond de l'abîme and Dvořák’s Mass in D with the WASO Chorus.
