About the Artists
Guy Noble
Conductor
Guy Noble has conducted the Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Western Australian, Tasmanian, Queensland and Canberra symphony orchestras, the Auckland Philharmonia, and the Hong Kong Symphony and Malaysian Philharmonic orchestras. He is the host and accompanist each year for Great Opera Hits (Opera Australia) at the Sydney Opera House and loves to return as conductor and host for the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra’s Classics Unwrapped series at the Adelaide Town Hall. He was host of Breakfast on ABC Classic from 1999 to 2001.
Guy has worked with a wide variety of international performers including Harry Connick Jr, Ben Folds, The Beach Boys, The Pointer Sisters, Dianne Reeves, Glenn Frey, Randy Newman, Clive James, Conchita, The Two Cellos, Alfie Boe and Olivia Newton John. Other career highlights include cooking on stage with Maggie Beer and Simon Bryant from ABC TV’s The Cook and The Chef and singing Rossini Cat’s Duet in recital with Korean soprano Sumi Jo.

Genevieve McCarthy
Vocals
Genevieve is an Offie nominated actress who last year returned to Australia after studying and performing in London. Genevieve’s recent credits include playing Aphrodite in the world premiere of Mythic (Charing Cross Theatre) for which she was nominated for an Offie Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Musical and appears on the Original London Cast Recording, feature film The Spy Who Dumped Me (Lionsgate) with scenes opposite Mila Kunis & Kate McKinnon, Nina in short film Oblivious and workshop performances of Steven Sater’s new musical Murder at The Gates (The Other Palace). Genevieve also appears in commercials for Cadbury and Amazon Echo.
In 2016, Genevieve graduated with a Master of Performance in Musical Theatre from the Royal Academy of Music in London. During her studies she appeared as Johanna in Sweeney Todd at the Theatre Royal Stratford East and April in Company.
Prior to moving to London, Genevieve played Little Cosette in the Les Miserables 10th Anniversary Australian Tour (Cameron Mackintosh), Brigitta in The Sound of Music (GFO), Annie in Annie: Kids on Broadway (WASO) and Due in children’s television series Parallax (Great Western Entertainment). Genevieve performed solo singing engagements for President Bill Clinton (An Evening with President Bill Clinton), New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani (An Evening with Rudy Giuliani) and at season launches for the West Australian Symphony Orchestra and Australian Rugby Union.
In 2020, Genevieve joined creative forces with her colleague and friend Amy Manford to create MM Creative Productions, Perth's newest theatrical production company. The two recently completed their largest project to date, Disney in Concert: A Dream is a Wish featuring the West Australian Symphony Orchestra and some of Australia’s finest theatrical talent.
Genevieve currently enjoys recording the role of Aubrey the Coach in Thomas & Friends (Mattel).
A diverse performer, Genevieve also graduated with a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Notre Dame (Australia) and was admitted as a solicitor to the Supreme Court of Western Australia.

Simon’s theatre credits include: Splinter (Griffin Theatre Company) An Ideal Husband, Hay Fever and Rupert (Melbourne Theatre Company); Southwark Fair (Royal National Theatre, London); A Little Night Music (Victorian Opera); Oklahoma!, Curtains and Chess (The Production Company); Les Misérables – West End, London (Cameron Macintosh Ltd London); Les Misérables – Australia (Cameron Macintosh Australia); Harbour and The Republic of Myopia (Sydney Theatre Company); Love Never Dies (Gustave Stage Productions); Imagine This (New London Theatre, West End); The Far Pavilions (Shaftesbury Theatre, West End); Certified Male (Edinburgh Festival); Three Sides; The Silver Lake (Wexford Festival, Ireland) and, Shoes (Sadler’s Wells).
Simon’s screen credits include: City Homicide, Neighbours, Blue Heelers and Seachange. In the UK he played the regular role of ‘Sid’ in EastEnders (BBC 1), Kombat Opera (BBC 2) and the feature film My Life In Ruins.
Simon received the Helpmann Award for ‘Best Male Actor in a Musical’ for his performance as ‘Jean Valjean’ in Les Misérables.

Sophie Foster
Vocals
Soul songstress Sophie Foster is one of Perth’s most sought-after vocalists and entertainers. After graduating from The Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts in 2015, Sophie has immersed herself in the live music scene playing with some of the most acclaimed Australian and International musicians. Sophie has performed with artists such as Chris Isaak, Guy Sebastion, Katey Steele (Little Birdy) and Melonie Daniels-Walker (background vocalist for Michael Jackson and Mariah Carey).
In 2021, Sophie was cast in the all-Western Australian adaptation of The Boy From Oz. Performing as one of Peter Allen’s background vocalists, the musical completed a highly successful two-week season at the Crown Theatre. Amongst her many live performances, Sophie has co-written and recorded with many Australian artists and at present is preparing to write and record her own music in 2023. Currently, Sophie is teaching within the Bachelor of Music degree at The Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts specialising in contemporary vocals.

WASO Chorus
The WASO Chorus was formed in 1988 and consists of around 100 volunteer choristers who represent the finest form of community music making, bringing together singers from all walks of life. They regularly feature in the WASO annual concert season, and are directed by Andrew Foote.
The Chorus has built an international reputation for its high standards and diverse range of repertoire. While its main role is to perform with the West Australian Symphony Orchestra the Chorus also maintains a profile of solo concerts, tours and community engagements.
The Chorus sings with the finest conductors and soloists including Asher Fisch, Simone Young, Stephen Layton and Paul Daniel. Recent highlights have included Brahms’ German Requiem, Mahler’s Second Symphony and Verdi’s Requiem. In 2019 the Chorus performed at the Denmark Festival of Voice and in 2018 toured China with performances of Orff’s Carmina burana. In 2020 they performed two Gala events on the Kalbarri Skywalk.

Perth’s Music Theatre Chorus bringing you songs and stories from Broadway.
Perth Broadway Chorus are a community of singers who share a love for showtunes! Established in 2019, the chorus has brought music theatre enthusiasts together to sing songs from classics such as The Sound of Music, Guys and Dolls and West Side Story, to contemporaries such as Avenue Q, Hamilton and Dear Evan Hansen.
PBC’s concerts typically feature chorus numbers interspersed with a variety of solos and duets performed by PBC members. All funds from ticket sales go directly to local charities and PBC are always delighted to have friends from Nulsen, Salvo’s Women’s Refuge and Regis Aged Care attend as invited guests.

Perth Undergraduate Choral Society
Since 1960, the Perth Undergraduate Choral Society (PUCS) has been a part of WA's choral landscape. PUCS traces its history as a University of Western Australia based choir and has performed with a wide variety of WA ensembles in its time. PUCS is a non-auditioned choir which provides a supportive environment for singers of all levels and experience while still maintaining the high musical standards its audiences have come to enjoy. The membership of PUCS, while historically university students, now represents the diversity of the wider Perth community. Their repertoire is equally diverse, exposing choristers and audiences to a range of choral music from contemporary Australian works to traditional African, English church and secular works, choral rock and musical theatre. PUCS is a member of the Australian Intervarsity Choral Societies Association (AICSA), who represent the interest of university choral societies around Australia.
