Did you know?

Mozart's Violin Concerto No.4 is also known as the "Military" Concerto because of its march-like first movement.

String Quartet No.11 is the only one of Beethoven's quartets to have been given an alternative name, Serioso. This was likely a reflection of the difficult time he was going through while composing the work – he'd had a marriage proposal rejected, his deafness was worsening, and his health was deteriorating.

The music for Dvořák's Nocturne in B originated as the slow movement of his String Quartet No. 4 in E minor, composed around 1870.

A chandelier fell from the ceiling during the premiere of Symphony No.102 but, because the audience had moved forward to watch Haydn more closely, the middle of the hall was empty and no one was hurt. However, the incident was later confused with the premiere of Haydn's Symphony No.96, which had taken place four years earlier, and that Symphony is now known as the Miracle, while Symphony No.102 remains nameless.
